Jumada-Al-Awwal is the fifth month of the Islamic calendar. This month is indicating the start of the summer season. The meaning of this month is dry and it is at the beginning of the hot weather. Moota battle took place in the month of Jumada-Al-Awwal. Holy Prophet (P. B. U. H.) was not participating in this battle. Hazrat Zaid (R. A.) Was appointed as the leader of an Islamic army in this battle.

Moota is the name of a city in Syria on which the name of this battle is based. Many important events took place in this battle which took place in the month of Jumada-Al-Awwal. Marriage of holy Prophet (P. B. U. H.) with Hazrat Khadija (R. A.) took place in the month of Jumada-Al-Awwal. Martyrdom of Hazrat Zaid (R. A.) took place in the month of Jumada-Al-Awwal. This month is also associated with the martyrdom of Hazrat Jafar (R. A.). An event related to the martyrdom of Hazrat Abdullah also took place during this month.
