Rabi-Al-Awwal

This is the third month in the Islamic calendar. Meaning of Rabi-Al-Awwal is a first month of spring. The meaning suggests that at the time of the name giving to this month was spring. This is an important month and birth of the holy Prophet (P. B. U. H.) took place in this month. Death of holy Prophet (P. B. U. H.) also took place in the month of Rabi-Al-Awwal. Migration of the holy Prophet (P. B. U. H.) took place in this month of Rabi-Al-Awwal as well. This migration was from the holy city of Makkah to the holy city of Madina. Buwaat battle started in the month of Rabi-Al-Awwal.

Safvaan battle also took place in the month of Rabi-Al-Awwal. Hazrat Asma (R. A.) who is the daughter of Hazrat Abu Bakr (R. A.) was born in this month of Rabi-Al-Awwal. Hazrat Ruqayyah (R. A.) was also born in the month of Rabi-Al-Awwal. This is the month in which Hazrat Abu Bakr (R. A.) was selected as caliph. Marriage ceremony of Hazrat Umme Kulsoom (R. A.) took place with Hazrat Osman (R. A.) in this month of Rabi-Al-Awwal.

Hazrat Zainab (R. A.) died in this month of Rabi-Al-Awwal. It is the month in which the death of Hazrat Ibrahim (R. A.) who was the son of the holy Prophet (P. B. U. H.) took place. Some Muslims celebrate this month to commemorate the birth of the holy Prophet (P. B. U. H.). Many important events took place in this month in the past due to which its importance is increased. In the present times on the 12th of Rabi-Al-Awwal there is a special arrangement as this is the date of birth of the holy Prophet (P. B. U. H.).

Different types of functions of Islamic nature took place on this date and people participate in them for learning important things and teachings.
